Comments and Pricing information - Northern Carving

Northern Carving: This web site design was put together by myself and my classmates. Yes, I did go to school for this a long...long time ago. Or so it seems. Since I was ahead on my work at the time, I started the design work on this site until my classmates caught up on their work, and could pitch in. I've noticed that the site is no longer up on the web so I do not have a link directly to it. Because the site was finished up by several different people, it definitely has some bugs that need to be worked out. I haven't had time to tackle the job, and unless I take over this site for the client, I'm not likely to fix much. This was a free site to the client as a class project. I designed the header logo to 'fit' the product and felt the colors suited the business. Once my classmates started on it, they carried on with the rest of the design and color scheme, particularily Dan, who did a wonderful job on the menu buttons. Knowing what I do now, I would probably have set up the gallery to show the images in a little more attractive manner, but the method used still shows his work adequately. The client really had no clear objective in mind, partly I suspect, because he just wasn't that familiar or comfortable with the Internet. He had indicated he would like customers from the US, and would make arrangements for packaging and shipping his product. But he really didn't give us enough material to provide a really informative site. This was an excellent example of a 'carte blanche' site. We were given the order, with no specifics, and ran with it. I'm glad to say I'm much better at that now!

Part of the service I offer? I actually suggested the domain name of Northern Carving to our instructor, because the name he had in mind was far too unwieldy. Northern Canadian Chainsaw Wood Carving was just too big, and NCCWC has no meaning to the general public doing a search.

Pricing: Several people worked on this site in the end and as a result there was no way of tracking or judging the time put into the site. There was no money charged for the site because it was a class project. I could probably give a suggested price for such a site, but since I've come up with much better ways of showcasing a product, I wouldn't be likely to use this format again unless someone specifically requested it. As a result, I hesitate to quote a price here.
